action-packed.

i worked from 10-6.

got 13 people to sign up for scorecards. shattering my previous record of 5.

had this exchange with a disgruntled old man:

me: "hows it going?"
old man: "terrible."
me: "haha. oh yeah?"
*silence*

needless to say, i didnt ask him if he wanted a scorecard.

then i went to the annual coach's meeting for the softball league i am in-- where i was the youngest coach by atleast 15 years.

we went over some issues. basically our team is going to get crushed more frequently because there are only 2 divisions this year, and i dont think we will be as good as we have been in the past, but oh well. i cant wait.

and now i am about to watch 24 which i had to record.

i hope noone dies. i cant take anymore deaths.

Doesn't the league have a mercy rule? That is a ridiculous score. If I was the umpire, I would have called the game in the 4th inning - or I would have at least gone to my car to take a nap.

There is a mercy rule but only if the team (us) wants mercy. We never give up or quit.

YOU RECORDED 24! I NEED TO BORROW IT!!

I ACCIDENTALLY RECORDED CHANNEL 3 (NECN) INSTEAD OF CHANNEL 2.

no Kingston or Seacoast Community this year. They couldn't get enough players.

i just noticed nate was 3 for 3, with 3 homeruns and 7 rbis in that game.

i wonder who had him on their church softball fantasy league.

Were they hitting THAT good, or did you have a million defensive errors? Even so, my kids have played T-ball games with lower scores. Which is pretty bad considering T-ball is a sport where everybody bats EVERY inning, everybody scores, and nobody gets out.

I will be ready to go in top form this year instead of just a late-season replacement. I'll be your secret weapon.

If I remember correctly, they started the game slamming the ball over our heads.

and the game was at brock st. where there are no fences, thus no outside-the-park hr limit. so they must have had a dozen inside-the-park hrs.

then we started playing our outside deep, which they noticed and began dropping in singles and stretching them into doubles.

it was a merciless shellacking.

the thing is with them, that night they really just got lucky. it was just one of those days where everybody on the their team hit perfectly.

they are the worst of the "A" division teams, and we came close to beating other "A" teams that season.

luck. thats all it was. it sucked to be in the outfield that day.
